The American gymnast added three gold medals to her impressive collection at the Paris Games and admits that she has barely practiced since following the demands of the competition.
Biles told PEOPLE: "Truthfully, I’ve only gone into the gym to practice a handful of times because of my schedule.
"I’ve barely been home, but my body needed this break, so I’m not mad about it."
Biles will be demonstrating her gymnastic talents during the Gold Over America Tour, which begins next week, and says that her time off has helped prepare both "mentally and physically" for the shows.
She said: "I’m very excited about the tour and I think having this time off helped me prepare — mentally and physically.
"I’m most excited for the fans to see the best of both worlds.
"Men’s and women’s gymnastics in one arena, at the same exact time, sharing the same floor."
Biles revealed her determination to "inspire future generations" on the tour and sees it as an opportunity "to give back" to her supporters.
Meanwhile, the gymnast and her husband - Chicago Bears NFL star Jonathan Owens - are also preparing to move into their new home that she has designed.
The 11-time Olympic medallist said: "Jonathan is very low-key and let me lead with the design and build process.
"We feel so blessed to be able to build our dream home. We can’t wait to officially move in and expand our family one day."
