Derek Chisora urges Daniel Dubois to channel inner 'demon' to beat Oleksandr Usyk

Derek Chisora says Daniel Dubois must "become a demon" to defeat Oleksandr Usyk.

The British fighter believes that his compatriot must reach extraordinary heights to end the Ukrainian's unbeaten record in the undisputed heavyweight title bout at Wembley Stadium on Saturday (19.07.25).

Chisora told The Sun's No Glove Lost YouTube show: "Daniel has to walk into Wembley Stadium and just become a demon.

"And just go with that. Don't even doubt yourself, just go with it.

"But, let's be honest. These Europeans are different from us English. We are mummy's boys and those guys are real men.

"He's a religious guy. He's a man of God. Do you know when someone's got it all perfect? He's got it all perfect."

Chisora believes that Dubois will have to be "crazier" than Usyk to become unified heavyweight champion as his opponent has been living in Ukraine during the country's ongoing war with Russia.

The veteran pugilist – who lost to Usyk in 2020 – said: "He's done his training camp in Spain but usually, when he's not there, he's in his front room listening to missiles go over the ceiling.

"You have to understand, Daniel is fighting a guy who's ready to go to war.

"The only way to beat Usyk right now, is to find someone who is more crazy than him.

"But is anybody crazier than him right now? I don't know. But Daniel has to be."

The heavyweight division will soon have a new unified champion but Chisora doesn't see major changes happening in the weight class – with Anthony Joshua still recovering from injury and Tyson Fury teasing a return to the ring following his retirement earlier this year.

He told talkSPORT: "It will stay the same way because Tyson right now is resting, Anthony Joshua is resting as well. Right now we just have to focus on Daniel and Usyk."
