Eden Hazard dismisses Euro fatigue fears

Chelsea star Eden Hazard has rejected any talk of a Champions League hangover ahead of Saturday's trip to Liverpool.

Manager Antonio Conte has recently blasted his side's hectic schedule over the next few weeks and Chelsea go into their trip to Anfield this weekend after a trip to Azerbaijan.

Chelsea completed a 5,000 mile round trip to take on Qarabag in the Champions League this week but Hazard has played down any notion fatigue could impact on the squad at Liverpool.

"I am feeling good, 100 percent," he told reporters. "A lot of players didn't play on Wednesday and I played only 60 minutes and N'Golo [Kante] also came off, so we can be fresh on Saturday, even if the game is close.

"We are professional; we can deal with this. We will do everything; we will do recovery and we will see on Saturday. Confidence is high; everything is in our hands to win games."

Chelsea will come up against former forward Mohamed Salah when they take on the Reds this weekend.

Egypt international Salah failed to secure regular football during his two years at Chelsea and spent time at Fiorentina and Roma on loan before joining the latter on a permanent deal.

Hazard has revealed he is still in contact with the 25-year-old and feels Salah wasn't really given a chance to make a name for himself at Chelsea during his time at Stamford Bridge.

He said: "He's a top, top, top player. He did not get his chance at Chelsea - maybe because of the manager [former boss Jose Mourinho], because of the other players? I don't know.

"He has quality but in that period I remember we had me, Willian, Oscar, so for him it was not easy. But he's a top player, for sure, and we know as a team the quality he has. He is a fantastic striker and this season he has scored a lot of goals.

"In training he would do everything. Even in the games when he was playing, sometimes he would score goals, so we knew the quality he had. I am just happy for him."
