North and Moriarty get tour clearance

Wales' backs coach Rob Howley has declared George North and Ross Moriarty free to go on the country's summer tour.

The duo's participation in the games against South Africa in Washington and then Argentina twice in San Juan and Santa Fe next month was in doubt due to World Rugby rules over Test match windows, and other English-based players Luke Charteris, Tomas Francis and Josh Adams were forced to pull out of the trip as a result.

However North, who is set to join Ospreys from Northampton for next season, and Moriarty, who has agreed to move to Dragons from Gloucester, have been given the green light to play.

Howley said: "North and Moriarty are available for selection for all three games and will be playing."

Wales play the Springboks on June 3 before games against Argentina on June 9 and June 16.
