Lance set for August return

Fly-half Jono Lance will start training with Worcester Warriors next month, according to director of rugby Alan Solomons.

The 28-year-old turned out eight times for the Warriors during an impressive three-month spell at the club before joining Queensland Reds for their Super Rugby campaign.

Lance has since committed to a two-year deal with Worcester and is set to return to England for August 1 after being handed an extended break.

Solomons felt the number 10 needed some extra time to recharge the batteries and insists he will not be rushed back into action.

"Jono is due to come back on August 1," he said. "He finished playing on July 13 and I promised him a break as he needed to get a couple of weeks off.

"We understood that he needed to see his family and Super Rugby is tiring. They did have a small break in it but I am giving him two weeks off.

"We won't let him play until we are happy that he is ready."
