The studio has unveiled plans for a new EA Sports mobile app, which will have a soft launch in Spain this autumn for both iOS and Android devices.
The company has described the new platform as a "socially-driven app", with features including a discovery feed to keep fans updated on news and highlights from their teams.
There will also be interactive challenges, and community 'arenas'.
EA confirmed that the soft launch in Spain will include "a combination of sports content, live sports data, social messaging, interactivity, challenges and more centered on Global Football in collaboration with longstanding partner LaLiga".
The publisher also plans to add more sports to the platform in the future.
During the company's investor day, Cam Weber - head of EA Sports - said: “We’re prioritising new category opportunities to grow around and beyond our games.
“We also believe that as we strive to lead the future of sports fandom, we can eventually be one massive online community for the broader sportsman audience, connecting fans through a new experience.”
And David Tinson - chief experiences officer at EA - told investors that "these first steps are very intentional".
He explained: "We’ll start this fall as the sports app itself that launches in Spain with a focused combination of sports content, lots of data, social messaging, interactivity and gamification around European football, delivering unique content like this can only come from EA Sports."
