Microsoft insists Surface Duo is not a phone

Microsoft wants to make sure people know that their Surface Duo is not a phone.

The tech giant's new device might be powered by Android and come with two 5.6-inch screens joined by a hinge, but they don't want people confusing it for anything but a Surface product.

The firm's chief product officer, Panos Panay, said: "Make no mistake. This is a Surface device."

A spokesperson for Microsoft added to CNET.com: "Surface Duo does much more than make phone calls - it's a dual-screen Surface that fits in your pocket, bringing together the best of Microsoft productivity experiences, Android apps, and Surface hardware design into a single device."
