Lack of travel makes people feel emotional

A lack of travel has been making people feel emotional.

The world has effectively been on lockdown since March owing to the coronavirus pandemic and nearly half (48 per cent) of respondents are feeling "anxious and stressed" because they can't travel abroad, with over three out of four respondents (78 per cent) of people admitting travel was one of the things they wanted to do most.

And when we are able to travel again, over two thirds (67 per cent) of people are keen to travel with members of their households whilst 10 per cent of people want to go by themselves.

The Amex Trendex report reads: "Despite countries extending or enforcing new travel restrictions, the desire to travel in the future still remains. While the majority of consumers surveyed feel more comfortable traveling domestically over internationally in the next three months, many consumers indicate a desire to get on the move and are planning to make a big purchase on travel in the next month. When it comes to what consumers miss most about travel, adults in Japan miss the opportunity to relax and unwind most (28 per cent), whereas adults in Canada (38 per cent), the United States (35 per cent), Australia (32 per cent), the United Kingdom (30 per cent) and Mexico (30 per cent) miss the overall travel experience the most."
