A new study by Travelocity has revealed that more parents are planning to go away this summer, compared to those who don't already have children. A total of 80 per cent of respondents with children are planning to head away in the next nine months compared to 69 per cent for those without kids already.
However, there are other factors that are involved for those wishing to get away, with over two thirds (67 per cent) of people keen to get vaccinated before they make solid fans for a break away.
And for those not wanting to go away at the moment, nearly half (42 per cent) admit that is because they don't yet feel safe to do so owing to the current coronavirus pandemic.
And when it comes to reasons for getting away, nearly one quarter (24 per cent) plan to visit family whilst 16 per cent want to take a trip to the beach. 13 per cent are keen to go on a road trip whilst only 9 per cent will travel internationally.
When people do go away, they are keen to take a car trip with 60 per cent admitting that is their preferred way of travel, compared to just 35 per cent who want to fly.
