Work-life blending

Employees are being encouraged to embrace work-life "blending".

As laid out in National Car Rental's third annual State of Business Travel survey, it has been revealed that over two thirds (67 per cent) of people try their best to draw a line between their work and personal lives but nearly the same amount of people (65 per cent) see it as an unrealistic goal.

And bleisure travel is most done by millennials, with 86 per cent having done so compared to 76 per cent of Gen Xers and 73 per cent of baby boomers.

Don Moore, senior vice president of global business rental for Enterprise Holdings, which owns and operates National Car Rental, as well as the Enterprise Rent-A-Car and Alamo Rent A Car brands, said: "In an increasingly connected and mobile world, we're seeing employees - and business travellers, in particular - finding new ways to balance their work and personal time. As we enter this new decade of the 21st century, National's research suggests this shift in thinking. Instead of trying to meet unrealistic expectations, we're actively seeking ways to blend work and leisure to achieve both life and career satisfaction."
