Harry Kane happy to see Spurs doing well

Harry Kane is still trying to “catch up” with Tottenham Hotspur’s games.

The 30-year-old striker left the club after 19 years this summer and though he’s now based in Germany, playing for Bayern Munich, he’s still keeping an eye on his former side and is pleased with their form so far.

He told FourFourTwo magazine: “I’ve been catching up with the highlights, watching them whenever I can.

“They’ve been in a really good place and the team’s been performing well, the fans look extremely excited and I hope they carry on like that all season.

“I’ve got some great pals there and I still keep in touch.

“I’ve just been very happy for them.”

Harry is contracted at Bayern until the end of the 26/27 season but he insisted he hasn’t thought yet about whether he will return to England after that.

He said: “I’m not thinking that far ahead just yet.

“I’m at Bayern right now and focused on my next game, my next goal. Then it’ll be the one after that.”

When he left Spurs, Harry was just 47 league goals behind Alan Shearer’s Premier League record but he dismissed suggestions it’s something he’s thinking about.

He said: “It’s not on my mind right now.

“I take each year as it comes and make the best decisions for myself in football.

“My focus is just on trying to perform here, settling into German life and trying to score as many goals for Bayern Munich as I can.”
