99 documentary chronicles Man Utd's Treble win

A new documentary is to chronicle Manchester United's 1999 Treble win.

The three-part series '99' will launch on Amazon Prime Video worldwide on May 17 to mark the 25th anniversary of United becoming the first team in the history of English football to win the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League in the same season.

The documentary covers the road to greatness with untold stories from key figures in the team revealing the dressing room conflicts, personal struggles and miraculous moments that shaped a legendary season ending with United's astonishing late comeback to beat Bayern Munich in the Champions League final.

The series will feature interviews with former United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and players including David Beckham, Andy Cole, Gary Neville, Phil Neville, Peter Schmeichel, Paul Scholes, Teddy Sheringham, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Dwight Yorke and many more.

United had dominated the English game throughout the 1990s but Ferguson had yet to bring European glory back to Old Trafford until doing so in memorable fashion in 1999.

In the space of 10 days, Ferguson's squad of both home-grown and international talent won three trophies that elevated the club to even greater heights.

Filmmaker Sampson Collins has access to the team and new footage from inside the dressing room that will delve into the excitement, unparalleled determination and miraculous twists of fate in the lead-up to the remarkable achievement.

'99' is produced by John Bettek's Ventureland in association with Studio 99 and Buzz16.

The documentary joins Amazon Prime Video's collection of sports content that includes shows such as 'Ronnie O'Sullivan: The Edge of Everything' and 'Sir Alex Ferguson: Never Give In'.

'99' is exclusively available on Prime Video on 17th May when all three parts will drop globally.
