The Argentine midfielder has been an integral part of the Reds' success in their debut season under Arne Slot and hopes that it marks the beginning of a golden period for the club.
Mac Allister told ESPN: "I didn't feel that we were going to win the league as easily as we did, because we are in a process that is just getting started.
"For many, it was a big change. The coach and the team know that we can continue to improve, and hopefully, this is the beginning of something great."
Mac Allister scored on the day Liverpool secured a record-equalling 20th league title by beating Tottenham 5-1 last month and described the strike as "the most important goal" of his career so far.
The World Cup winner said: "The goal against Tottenham is the most important goal of my career.
"I don't know if it's the best I've ever scored, but it's definitely the most important."
Mac Allister continued: "I'm happy with the season I've had. I think I'm in the best moment of my career and I can show in this great club what I can do.
"But I always said that I depend a lot on my team (and) I met players who helped me a lot in my game."
Liverpool did suffer disappointment in the Champions League as they were knocked out on penalties by PSG in the last 16 but Mac Allister felt that the Reds were "unlucky" to be drawn against the French champions – who have gone on to reach the final.
He said: "We were unlucky in the draw, we got a great team. It's hard to say, but we would have loved to have gone further.
"Either team could have reached the semi-finals. They were better on penalties, but next year we are going to fight."
