Tyson Fury rooting for Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. to beat Jake Paul

Tyson Fury is backing Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. to beat Jake Paul in their fight.

The Gypsy King, 36, has given his support to JC Jr., 39, to seize victory over The Problem Child, 28, in their upcoming clash on Saturday (06.28.25) at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, and has told Chavez Jr. to “put on a show”.

On X (formerly Twitter), Fury wrote: “Get up there, viva Mexico! All the best boys, I hope the training has gone well, and I hope Chavez is doing good.

“Can’t do any more than train your b******* off in the gym and put the work in and go in there and get the job done.

“[The] man’s a former WBC middleweight world champion, son of a legend, so he can do his best, that’s it, do your best, put on a show, go in there and get paid and get out of there, that’s what I say. All the best, good luck.”

While Fury is backing Chavez Jr., Paul - who beat Mike Tyson in their match last November - recently revealed his plan to knock out his opponent.

At a press conference, Paul said: “I'm gunna knock him out. That’s what I came here to do. First-round. It's going to be an early night.

“He's going to get hit with a right hook right away and I'm going home early. I don't get paid for overtime. It's going to be a spectacular performance.”

The Problem Child insisted “this is it” for Chavez Jr.’s boxing career.

“This is it for him I feel bad. I'm genuinely sorry. I want to apologize in advance because I know the emotional turmoil you're going to go through.

“You're going to go into hiding. That's who you are. You love to go and hide.”

Even so, Chavez Jr. hasn’t taken any of Paul’s trash talk to heart.

When asked whether Paul’s trash-talking bothered him, he said: “No, I was expecting that from him. It's the only way for him to get attention. I am ready.”
