Tyson Fury is 'not interested' in boxing if Anthony Joshua fight doesn't materialise

Tyson Fury is "not interested" in continuing to box if he doesn't get to fight Anthony Joshua next.

The Gypsy King made a winning return to the ring with a unanimous decision triumph over Arslanbek Makhmudov on Saturday (11.04.26) and declared that a clash with his British rival is the only future fight that interests him.

Fury said in his post-fight press conference: "Let's get the fight on. Here's the thing. If it ain't Anthony Joshua next, I'm not interested in boxing.

"I'll eat a thousand Easter eggs (and) go up to 35 stone. I'm out. I'm not interested. It's either him or I'm gone again.

"I'm not interested in up-and-comers, someone trying to prove a point over me, I don't care. I don't care about rankings. I don't care about belts. I only care now about AJ. That's the defining fight for British boxing."

The former heavyweight world champion called out Joshua - who was ringside at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - following his win but was frustrated that his "evasive" compatriot didn't commit to the bout.

Fury said: "He was brought here tonight ringside for a reason, to get in that ring and make a face off and get the fight done. I've signed. I signed months ago. I don't know if he signed.

"He was very evasive and didn't give no definitive answers. I know one thing. He wasn't saying yes.

"In my opinion he didn't want no smoke. He didn't want it. He didn't look like he wanted it. He was just shell-shocked. Didn't know what to say, He came ringside to make a fight. If it was me I'd have jumped in that ring, faced off, let's get it on.

"10 years in the making and still, after all this time, there's still uncertainty about if this fight's going to happen next."
