Perez only moved to the Emirates Stadium from Deportivo La Coruna 12 months ago, but he has struggled to earn a regular first-team spot during his time in north London, starting just two Premier League matches.
The 28-year-old's agent has now confirmed that his client wants to leave the Gunners, although that may be easier said than done as he still has three years remaining on his contract.
"Lucas Perez is calm, he has to train and worry about preparing for the season," Fernandez Lovelle said. "He wants to play, he has said he wants to leave, but we also know that he has a three-year contract with a club that he signed 11 months ago."
Newcastle are believed to be one of the teams monitoring Perez' situation with Arsenal, although the Magpies may have to act quickly, as Lovelle has confirmed that the Spaniard's former club Deportivo are currently in pole position to complete a deal.
"To this day the best offer is from Deportivo," Lovelle added. "There is a lot of interest in the French league, the Turkish league, the Premier League , the Bundesliga."
