Reds star Philippe Coutinho to miss out

Philippe Coutinho will once again be missing for Liverpool when they entertain Hoffenheim in their Champions League play-off clash.

Having missed the first three games of the season due to a back injury, the Barcelona target now has a bout of illness and Reds boss Jurgen Klopp confirmed he was unsure when the midfielder - a top summer target for Barcelona - would be able to return.

Right-back Nathaniel Clyne (hamstring) and midfielder Adam Lallana (thigh) both remain out too, with Liverpool holding a 2-1 lead from the first leg in Germany.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, who scored a fine free-kick in the first game, was rested against Crystal Palace on Saturday and is set to return, while Emre Can is also poised to return to the starting line-up.
