The Swedish star was not expected to return until early 2018, but his progress has been impressive, with one report on Thursday suggesting he could be in Jose Mourinho's squad for the visit of Spurs in just over two months' time.
The news will be a big boost to boss Jose Mourinho as Ibrahimovic's 28 goals helped the side lift the EFL Cup and win the Europa League last term.
The Portuguese tactician has assembled a squad he hopes can challenge for the Premier League title and progress into the latter stages of the Champions League this term while their EFL Cup defense will start with a visit from Championship side Burton to Old Trafford in the week commencing September 18.
