Bath clash too soon for Dylan Hartley

Bath clash too soon for Dylan Hartley

Northampton's Aviva Premiership clash against unbeaten Bath on Friday will come too soon for injured captain Dylan Hartley.

The 31-year-old current England skipper picked up a hand injury following his try-scoring exploits in last weekend's 24-11 win against Leicester Tigers at Franklin's Gardens.

And, while the injury is not too serious, it is enough for Hartley to miss the home game against a Bath side which has two wins from their opening two fixtures.

The Saints have revealed that both Hartley and flanker Tom Wood, who has a shoulder injury, are both expected to be back in training next week.

In the absence of Hartley, Mikey Haywood will be handed a starting place and Courtney Lawes will captain the side.
