Everton eye rival striker Danny Ings

Everton are reported to have joined the queue of clubs showing an interest in Liverpool striker Danny Ings.

Despite a huge outlay of cash during the summer, Everton are crying out for a goalscorer to replace Romelu Lukaku, and it has been suggested they could look very close to home to solve their problems.

Ings has been dogged by injury since joining the Reds from Burnley, and despite now being back to full fitness, he is struggling to force his way into Jurgen Klopp's first team on a regular basis.

A move away from Anfield looks to be on the cards in the January transfer window, with a host of clubs including Newcastle, Crystal Palace and Watford all said to be lining up offers.

Everton can now be added to that list and such a move is sure to appeal to Ings as it will mean he does not have to uproot his family for starters, while the chance to play for a club the size of Everton will also be attractive.

Whether the two Merseyside rivals can negotiate a deal remains to be seen, but the Blue half seem to be mulling it over at least.
