Barca may have to accept summer Philippe Coutinho deal

Barcelona are expected to try and sign Philippe Coutinho again in January but a move to the Nou Camp looks more likely next summer.

Recent reports from Spain have claimed the Brazilian will again be targeted by the Catalan giants in the New Year, after they failed to lure the Liverpool ace despite at least a couple of huge bids this summer.

The Reds were determined to hold on to the 25-year-old, who remains under contract at Anfield until 2022 without a buy-out clause, and duly rebuffed bids in excess of £100m for the former Inter man.

However, Coutinho is expected to end up at the Nou Camp at some point but Liverpool hope to be able to hang on to the playmaker for the rest of the current season.

Barca are being tipped to test Liverpool's resolve to keep him in January by offering up to £120 million but boss Jurgen Klopp is likely to resist offers then before reluctantly accepting his departure in the summer, providing a suitable replacement can be found.
