Eddie Howe seeking right attacking combination

Eddie Howe is searching for the right option up front ahead of his Bournemouth side's mouth-watering clash with Liverpool on Sunday.

The Cherries have scored just once in their last three Premier League games and boss Howe must find the right combination from Josh King, Callum Wilson, Jermain Defoe and Benik Afobe in order to trouble the Merseysiders.

Brad Smith (hip), Adam Federici and Tyrone Mings (both back) are out, with Steve Cook and Harry Arter one caution away from suspension.

Lewis Cook, who came off the bench at Manchester United on Wednesday, could come into the XI while Defoe may start - either on his own or with King.

Howe will be looking for the same attacking threat from his side as in last year's matches against Liverpool - a 4-3 home win and a 2-2 away draw.

He said: "We have good memories from last year, from both games. We competed in both and the game here will live long in the memory for the character shown by the players.

"The last 20 minutes is what I was looking for, the atmosphere in the stadium and the resolve from the players was excellent."

Provisional Squad: Begovic, S Cook, Francis, Ake, Daniels, Surman, L Cook, Fraser, Stanislas, Defoe, King, Boruc, Simpson, Gosling, Arter, Afobe, Ibe, Wilson, A Smith.
