City wait on Vincent Kompany

Manchester City are likely to be without skipper Vincent Kompany for tonight's clash against Bristol City at Ashton Gate.

City are just one step away from a place in the League Cup final at Wembley Stadium, but first have to overcome a Robins side that ran them so close in the semi-final first leg at the Etihad Stadium.

Sergio Aguero sealed a late win to give City a 2-1 advantage heading into tonight's clash and Guardiola has vowed to put out a strong side against the Championship outfit.

Kompany looks set to miss out as he struggles with a calf injury, but there is every chance Yaya Toure will play. Elsewhere, full-back Fabian Delph is out with a knee issue.

Kevin De Bruyne and Aguero are set to figure as Guardiola takes no chances. Guardiola is looking to win his first trophy as Manchester City boss and has promised not to take tonight's game lightly.

"Of course we are going to try to see the best team as possible," he said. "I will say we are going to go there and try and win the game and go to the final."
