The Clarets were tipped by many at the start of the season to be relegated from the Premier League but have proven their doubters wrong by spending the majority of the season inside the top seven.
Back-to-back wins against Everton and West Ham has strengthened Burnley's standing in the table and they are even within striking distance of sixth-placed Arsenal, with eight rounds of fixtures remaining in the campaign.
Midfielder Cork has enjoyed Burnley's season to date and sees no reason why they cannot continue in the same vein.
Speaking to the club's website, Cork said: "It's always good to be part of teams that are doing well and playing well.
"It's just a really good group of lads who are always working hard and giving everything for each other. If you asked everyone the same question, I think they'd all say they are really enjoying the year and how it's gone so far.
"We were just trying to get over that 40 (points) and now we've done that hopefully we can have a real good push for the last eight games and have a good finish to what's been a successful season so far."
Burnley are not back in action until the end of March when they travel to the Hawthorns to take on relegation-threatened West Brom.
