Tinder launches Double Date feature

Tinder has rolled out a Double Date feature.

It allows users and their friends to match and chat with other pairs of pals on the online dating app.

People can create up to three pairs of friends and swipe left or right on other pairs of friends.

However, as Double Date is in a testing phase, users cannot activate premium features, such as Boosts and Super Likes, to give them a better chance at matching with others.

If users successfully match with each other, the Double Date will be displayed in the discovery section of the app - the same place where individual profiles and chats appear.

The only difference with the new feature - which is being tested in select regions, such as the US, and the UK from mid-July - is that both of the people from Double Date will appear side-by-side for users to view.

Once a match has been made, a chat is opened between the four users, where a four-way conversation can be made.

People can also swipe right on an individual in the matched pairings and also message them privately for a more direct connection.

Users who wish to try Double Date need to open Tinder on their Android, Apple IOS devices, or on a computer, tap the settings icon, on Open Settings.

Then, they need to scroll down until they find the section called Double Date.

Here, users have the option to show more Double Date profiles than individual profiles in the swipe stack. They can even decide to hide Double Date profiles.

A spokesperson for Tinder said: "As Double Date is currently in testing, premium features and subscription benefits (such as Boosts and Super Likes) aren’t compatible at this time."
