Sony unveils PlayStation Gaming Monitor

Sony has announced the PlayStation Gaming Monitor, a 27-inch display built specifically for desktop PS5 and PC gaming.

Designed by Sony Interactive Entertainment, the monitor combines PlayStation’s signature minimalist aesthetic with high-end performance features - and even includes a built-in charging hook for the DualSense or DualSense Edge wireless controller.

Set to launch in 2026 across the U.S. and Japan, the IPS screen delivers Quad High Definition (QHD) visuals at up to 2560×1440 resolution with HDR and Auto HDR Tone Mapping.

The feature automatically calibrates brightness and color when connected to a PS5 or PS5 Pro, ensuring consistent, vibrant picture quality without manual setup.

For performance-focused players, the monitor supports Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and refresh speeds of up to 120Hz on PS5 and 240Hz on PC and Mac via DisplayPort 1.4.

These specifications make it one of Sony’s most capable displays for high-frame-rate gaming, while maintaining compatibility with both console and desktop ecosystems.

Connectivity options include two HDMI 2.1 inputs, one DisplayPort 1.4, USB-A and USB-C ports, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The monitor also integrates stereo speakers, a VESA mount, and compatibility with PlayStation Link adapters, aligning with Sony’s growing desktop ecosystem that includes the Pulse Elevate wireless speakers announced earlier this month.

Sony has said the new monitor is a direct response to the “shift toward flexible play spaces,” as players increasingly split gaming time between TVs, monitors, and handheld devices like the PlayStation Portal.

The PlayStation 27” Gaming Monitor with DualSense Charging Hook launches in 2026, with global availability details expected early next year.
