Ubisoft outlines plans for 'first playable Generative AI experience'

Ubisoft has confirmed plans for its "first playable Generative AI experience".

The video game giant has made some high profile announcements this week, including plans for new Assassin's Creed, Far Cry and Ghost Recon games currently in the works.

In the studio's most recent financial report for 2025-2026, they teased plans to leverage AI "enhance player experience" and "boost teams' creativity and efficiency" by developing Ubisoft's first "playable Generative AI experience".

They added: "[The project will] enrich player experiences, while teams are making tangible progress organically on AI applications that can help manage the growing complexity of modern game development pipelines."

Elsewhere in the financial report, the company outlined expectations for "a significantly bigger content pipeline over FY2027-28 and FY2028-29 across its major brands, including Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry and Ghost Recon".

The company's financial year runs from April 1 to March 31, so the new projects could be released by March 31 in 2029.

Assassin's Creed Hexe is set to be one the games in 2027, while multiplayer game Codename Invictus and mobile title Assassin's Creed Jade are both in active development, but without a release date.

Meanwhile, the most recent Far Cry game dropped in 2021, and there hasn't been a Ghost Recon game in seven years.
