The online dating app - which is owned by Match Group - is set offer a number of new functions including location tracking, emergency assistance and photo verification.
The company has invested in Noonlight, which will provide emergency response services and personal safety products for Tinder to use on its platform.
Before meeting someone, users can save information about them and where the date is set to take place, meaning if they hit the panic button emergency services will be alerted with the details, and accurate location data.
Meanwhile, the photo verification feature - which will use human-assisted AI to check profile pictures can be verified with several real-time selfies - looks to help users avoid "catfishing".
Match Group chief executive Mandy Ginsberg said: "A safe and positive dating experience is crucial to our business.
"We've found cutting-edge technology in Noonlight that can deliver real-time emergency services - which doesn't exist on any other dating product."
The features will first be offered in the US from January 28, with no details yet on a global rollout.
However, Match Group - which also owns OkCupid, Hinge and PlentyOfFish - is planning to bring the functions to its other dating services later in 2020.
