The video conferencing app's CEO Eric Yaun has responded to privacy concerns over the service, and outlined his plan to address these over the next 90 days after daily meetings participants rose from 10 million in December to 200 million last month with more people working from home.
He wrote in a blog post: "For the past several weeks, supporting this influx of users has been a tremendous undertaking and our sole focus...
"However, we recognise that we have fallen short of the community's -- and our own -- privacy and security expectations."
Yaun explained the platform was primarily created for "large institutions with full IT support", which means a change is necessary.
He continued: "Over the next 90 days, we are committed to dedicating the resources needed to better identify, address, and fix issues proactively.
"We are also committed to being transparent throughout this process. We want to do what it takes to maintain your trust."
Amongst the measures is an immediate feature freeze as the company shifts all "engineering resources to focus on" the pressing "trust, safety, and privacy issues".
