Disneyland is closing three Fantasyland rides this summer

Disneyland is closing three Fantasyland rides for refurbishments this summer.

Alice in Wonderland, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride and Peter Pan's Flight at will also be out of action while works are carried out at the tourist attraction in Anaheim, California.

However, all three are expected to re-open with visitors advised to keep an eye out for more information.

Earlier this year, people were selling water from Disney World’s infamous Splash Mountain ride for up to $125 a jar after it was closed down.

The log flume, which was based on the controversial 1946 Disney film 'Song of the South', was branded racist for its connotations regarding the post-Civil War South.

The ride will remain a flume and become Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in 2024, based on the movie 'The Princess and the Frog'.

Disney said: “Tiana is a modern, courageous, and empowered woman, who pursues her dreams and never loses sight of what’s really important. It’s a great story with a strong lead character, set against the backdrop of New Orleans and the Louisiana bayou.”

After one last ride, fans of the ride - which first opened at Magic Kingdom in October 1992 - scooped up water in jars and bags which were sold on eBay.

A 4oz jar went for $149.95 on 24 January, while a bag with the closing date went for $25.

Back in August 2020, the song ‘Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah’ was banned from Disneyland Resort playlists after a petition branded 'Song of the South' racist
