Jurgen Klopp: Liverpool are not title favourites

Jurgen Klopp doesn't regard Liverpool as favourites for the Premier League title.

The Reds will go back to the top of the table if they beat Sheffield United on Thursday (04.04.24) and the coach is just enjoying being in the battle with Arsenal and Manchester City.

In an interview with TNTSports, Klopp said: "It just feels like we are in the middle of a race, part of a race, we are two or three metres ahead, but the finishing line isn’t in sight really…

"I feel good about the situation, the team, the way we play, so many things I like, but being two points above whoever is nothing I'm really thinking about.

"Being in the title race, it’s the best place to be, to be honest, because everyone is dreaming of something like that. It’s good, it’s the result of the football the boys of played."

Klopp's time at Liverpool will come to an end once the season is over and he admits that the team's charge compares to the 'Last Dance' - referencing the acclaimed series about basketball icon Michael Jordan's final season with the Chicago Bulls.

He said: "Let's give it a proper try and that's all we can do. Yes this might be a little like the 'Last Dance' but a lot of dances are coming up, we better focus on all of them until the final matchday and that’s what we will do.

"The relationship between the boys and me is absolutely outstanding, it always was, every moment, that’s how it is."

Klopp added: "I’m so happy that we could write so many stories here on a personal level and on a club level. The club is in a good moment, the team plays good football, we just have to do that another 14 times and then everything is fine."
