Ryan Garcia won't retire from boxing this year

Ryan Garcia is no longer planning to quit boxing later this year.

The American fighter previously said that he intended to retire from the ring at the age of 26 but has now declared his plan to keep fighting as he reaches the age in August - although he does not expect to compete into his 30s.

Garcia told talkSPORT: "No, no, things have changed in my mind. But I think I'll be done by 30.

"I'll make money regardless, even if I wasn't in boxing. Even if I retired today I would still make a million dollars sooner or later.

"So to me money's not really a motivation. I've always had money, money chases me."

The fighter added: "As a kid I was obviously broke, but when you're not scared of money, money runs to you.

"I don't get scared of money, I'm not worried about money, it just comes to me.

"So I'm gonna box because I have a bigger purpose in boxing and what it does for my purpose in life.

"I'm gonna continue to do it, that's where I'm at."

Garcia revealed that there are four fighters he wants to take down before calling time on his career.

He said: "Teofimo Lopez, Shakur Stevenson and the Gervonta Davis rematch.

"But I also wanna do Sean O'Malley as a crossover MMA thing.

"That would break UFC PPV records.

"It is gonna be in the cage, there's no other way I would do it other than me in the cage going against Sean O'Malley and ripping off his head.

"I don't want a flat fee, I just want a percentage of the PPVs, that's it."
