The Polish tennis ace was dumped out in the second round in Rome after losing in straight sets to Danielle Collins and stated that she needs to change her "mindset" after a dip in form this year.
Swiatek - who will fall out of the top two in the world rankings following the defeat - said: "For sure, it hasn't been easy. For sure, I'm doing something wrong.
"So I need to just regroup and kind of change some stuff. I had some advice from the team. I'll just try to do that.
"Daria [Abramowicz, Swiatek’s psychologist], like everybody from my team. We talked and came to some conclusions.
"I'm just going to change my mindset a little bit.
"I just wasn't there; present to fight and to compete. I focused on mistakes. It's my mistake, and I'm not doing things right.
"The focus is on the wrong things from my side and I'll try to change that."
Swiatek will soon head to the French Open - a tournament she has won four times previously - but has low expectations heading into Roland Garros due to her lack of form.
She said: "Obviously it would be stupid to expect a lot because I’m not able to play my game right now. I’ll just try to, you know, as I said, change my mindset a little bit, try to regroup and just focus day by day working."
The five-time major winner also issued a spiky response when asked if returning to the Paris clay could inspire the return of her best tennis.
Asked if she got a special feeling playing at the French Open, Swiatek said: "It doesn’t matter what things I get. Every year is different, so… Doesn’t matter."
