The British tennis star earned an impressive straight sets victory over Daria Kasatkina at the Strasbourg International on Monday (19.05.25) and explained that she has been building up confidence on the surface ahead of the Paris major that gets underway this weekend.
Raducanu said: "I think I have been building towards this.
"I had three great matches in Rome, I played an opponent who was better than me on the day, and I think to bring that level here I am really proud.
"I think as I spend more time on clay I am starting to like it a little bit more. I am kind of building my relationship with the surface."
Raducanu earned her first victory against the Australian in emphatic fashion and was "proud" of the aggressive approach she took on court.
The former US Open champion said: "I am really proud of my performance. I came out and I was really aggressive and managed to maintain my focus in the second set when it was getting close and Daria was playing some great points as I was trying to serve the match out.
"I am really proud of today’s performance."
Raducanu recently revealed that she was determined to play every match with a smile on her face after losing to Coco Gauff at the Italian Open last week.
The British number two said: "It makes it more enjoyable, it makes it more sustainable.
"It does not make the losses feel as bad, because I just know every day I am trying to be the best version of myself and win the day, and I’ve gone back to that.
"I did not win on the match court today, but I am going to find a way to win the day."
