Barcelona 'like' Marcus Rashford and Luis Diaz

Barcelona sporting director Deco says the club are interested in signing Marcus Rashford and Luis Diaz.

The former Barca midfielder has explained that the La Liga champions are determined to bring in the Premier League forwards from Manchester United and Liverpool respectively as they seek to bolster their squad in this summer's transfer window.

Deco told the Catalan radio station RAC1: "We like Luis (Diaz), we like (Marcus) Rashford, and we like other players.

"When we go to the market, there are names that we know and that could improve the team."

Deco added that Barca's priority this summer is tying down homegrown players such as Lamine Yamal and Pedri to new contracts before bringing in a new winger.

The former Portugal international said: "Our big priority is to strengthen what we have at home with the renewals of Pedri, Gavi, (Ronald) Araujo, Raphinha, (Jules) Kounde.

"I understand that when people talk about signings, they always think about players coming back from abroad, but for me, renewals are also signings. Lamine (renewing) is the best signing in history.

"Then, if the team can be improved. From what we've seen this season, we need a player with a different profile to what we have to help the strikers.

"Fermin (Lopez) has played as a winger and has done well. The composition of the squad also depends on the market."

Barcelona have won three trophies during Hansi Flick's first season as manager and have extended his contract at the club until 2027 as a result.

The Spanish champions said in a statement: "Hansi Flick has made Barca fans happy in his first season for many reasons; for the belief he has given the team, for the epic comebacks and for the trophies.

"Hansi Flick is creating history at FC Barcelona and that, we are sure, will continue in the coming seasons."
