The 32-year-old athletics star, who won silver - and her first Olympic medal - at the Games last August - has sustained a minor injury and is "really gutted" to not be competing in the two-day event in the Gotzis Hypo Meeting at the Mosle Stadium in Vorarlberg, Austria, on Saturday (31.05.25) and Sunday (01.06.25).
Taking to Instagram on Thursday (29.05.25), Johnson-Thompson said: "I’m really gutted to share I’ve picked up an injury in training this week so won’t be competing in @hypomeeting_goetzis at the weekend.
"I was really looking forward to competing in my first heptathlon since Paris, especially at Gotzis as the event is so special.
"So, it’s with a heavy heart that I’ve had to make this decision. Thankfully, the injury is nothing serious and I’ll be back on the track shortly."
Hepthalon sees female athletes compete in seven disciplines - 100 metres, hurdles, high jump, shot put, 200 metres, long jump, javelin throw and the 800 metres - to earn points for their performance, with the winner being the one who has scored the most points.
And the two-time Commonwealth Games champion sent good luck to her competitors who will be taking part in the all-around test over the weekend.
She continued: "Good luck to all the athletes competing in Gotzis, no doubt they will put on another great weekend of combined events for all the fans that will be there!"
