Fabio Wardley had Plan B in mind

Fabio Wardley has suggested he wasn’t surprised when Jarrell Miller pulled out of their fight.

The 30-year-old heavyweight will now face Justis Huni on Saturday (07.06.25) night after his original opponent announced in late April that he was injured, and Fabio has admitted he and his team had always known they would need a “plan B”.

He told Boxing News magazine: “His team contacted us to say that he’s got a shoulder injury.

“With him, you never know what might crop up.

“We never had an actual full-blown replacement in place, but me and the team always had a feeling we might need to have a second opponent.

“One because he can be volatile for a variety of reasons. And two, because it’s a big stadium show, a lot riding on it, so it’s not something that can be easily put to the side or moved. You need a Plan B in place.

“It wasn’t the most ideal of circumstances and a change of opponent is never great, but you learn to move and just keep going.”

And Fabio thinks his new opponent will be more “difficult” to overcome.

He said: “From what I’ve seen of him and form how me and the team have been looking at him, he’s good, to be honest.

“He poses a lot of different problems which makes him quite a difficult opponent.

“With Miller, we knew very much what we were getting. He’s a one trick pony.

“Very effective, but he does one thing and you know how to plan for it.

“Whereas with Justis, he’s got a few more tricks up his sleeve, a bit more in his arsenal in terms of skillset.”
