The 42-year-old former footballer will be putting his boots back on to play in the charity Soccer Aid game later this month and he admitted it always feels special to get on the pitch at Manchester United’s legendary ground.
He told Match magazine: “It’s always nie to play at Old Trafford.
“It was one of the stadiums that as a young kid I always wanted to play in.
“I remember the first time I played there, I was at West Ham and I was really young.
“I remember standing in the tunnel and I had one of those moments like, ‘Wow, I can’t believe I’m here.’
“Obviously to go back there is going to be good!”
Although it is a charity endeavour, Jermain thinks the England side he will be playing for “needs” to beat the Rest of the World team.
He said: “We need to win, by any means necessary!
“We have to win, 1-0, 2-0, 2-1, however it comes.
“If I can score and we win, then I’ll be happy, just like last year.
“Even if you score two or three, you want goals to count for something.”
