Bryson DeChambeau, Russell Henley and Harris English qualify for Ryder Cup

Bryson DeChambeau, Russell Henley and Harris English have qualified for the US Ryder Cup team.

The trio secured the final three automatic qualifying places to join world number one Scottie Scheffler, US Open champion JJ Spaun and Xander Schauffele on captain Keegan Bradley's team for the competition against Europe at Bethpage, New York next month.

DeChambeau qualified due to three top-10 finishes in the majors this year and this is his third Ryder Cup after appearances in 2018 and 2021.

English makes the team for the second time, after last competing in 2021, while Henley will be making his Ryder Cup debut.

Captain Bradley will announce his six captain's picks to complete the 12-man team on August 27.

Meanwhile, DeChambeau is set to miss out on a preparation event when the rest of the team play at the Procore Championship in Napa, California next month, because as a member of LIV Golf, he is automatically suspended from all PGA Tour events.

According to TalkSport, Bradley said: “Well, he’s suspended and that’s out of my control.

“I thought that the Ryder Cup sort of transcends all of this and really, the last thing on my mind is the PGA Tour-LIV stuff.”

DeChambeau said: “That’s up to the Tour and their decision to make. It’s on them if they don’t let us become together as a team and play.”
