The 27-year-old forward - who is on loan from Manchester United - helped send Barca to a 2-1 victory in their UEFA Champions League game with Newcastle on Thursday (09.18.25), and Rashford has now said he hopes he has a long future at the Spanish club.
When TNT Sports asked Rashford how many seasons he wanted to stay at Barcelona, he said: “As many as possible. We will see.
“I have to focus on trying to do my job and trying to help the team in whichever way I can.”
Rashford added he was becoming a “better player” thanks to Barcelona.
He said: “I’m learning a lot, it’s a new style of football. But it’s making me a better player. Honestly, it’s an amazing experience.
“I’ve always been a huge admirer of Barcelona, every player my age has watched them play, it’s amazing football.”
The striker also praised manager Hansi Flick, saying he could “feel the confidence” the coach has given him.
He said of Flick: “He’s very important. I feel the confidence he’s given me. I knew he was a top manager before I arrived here, but to work with him is a pleasure.
“I hope the good relationship will continue for the rest of the season.
“For sure, everybody dreams of winning the Champions League. Now I’m at Barcelona, the dream is with Barcelona. I hope we can win the tournament, there’s some very good confidence. Hopefully we can go game by game and keep improving as a team.”
Barcelona were one goal down at the start of the first half at St James’ Park, though Rashford snatched victory from Newcastle after scoring a precise header in the 58th minute, with another goal following on in the 67th minute.
Rashford’s teammate Anthony Gordon, 24, had nothing but praise for the foward, describing his performance against Newcastle as“unbelievable”.
Gordon said: “It’s a top, top level, and you see Rashford scored two goals sort of out of nowhere.
“It’s a great header he should never score, and then the second goal is an unbelievable bit of play.
“It’s got to be the same for us, we’ve got to create some magic or take the opportunities when they’re presented to us.
“We got the goal, which is a testament to our mentality, and we’ve shown that this year. We tried for the second, but we were knackered the last five minutes so it was really hard.
“I think we can be proud of how we played, we gave it our very best.”
