The 32-year-old striker left the North London club for Bayern Munich in 2023 and has a contract with the Bundesliga side until 2027, though former Tottenham midfielder, 41, hopes Kane will be released early and come back.
During an appearance on Inside Spurs, Bentley said he wanted Tottenham to sign Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton, “and maybe Kane comes back next year”.
Since leaving Tottenham, Kane has scored 98 goals for Bayern Munich across his 103 appearances - having previously netted 280 goals for Spurs during his 14 years at the North London team.
Bentley said Kane’s possible return paired with manager Thomas Frank’s vision could see Tottenham pave a way to glory next season.
He explained: “Whether to win the league this year, I think next season will be a season that we could win the league.
Bentley added: "I think he's [Frank] got the discipline, we've got the quality in the squad and the team, to actually go and win something this year.
“I think to win the Premier League ... We've got probably more of a chance of winning the Champions League than we have of the Premier League.
“I think just at this point, I think we're probably a year [behind title rivals], but we've certainly got the start of that, being able to take over.
“If it's orchestrated well in the transfer windows, the sort of right buyers, you're going to see Tottenham, next season, have a real go at winning the Premier League. I think it's a big ask to do it in the first year.”
Kane’s £100 million move to Bayern Munich could end as early as next summer for a bargain fee of £56.7 million, but a departure from The Baverians would have to be engineered by Kane himself.
Even so, the striker said in May that he was “really happy” at Bayern Munich, and insisted he could see himself staying “for the forseeable future”.
He said: “You know, I think in football, in life, you never know what's around the corner. But for me, I'm really happy here in Munich.
“My family has settled down. My kids are loving it here in school, so yes, this is my life here for the foreseeable future.”
