Harry Kane tops Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi to reach incredible scoring record

Harry Kane has beaten Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi’s personal records of scoring 20 goals at the start of a season.

The 32-year-old striker reached the impressive achievement after netting a goal during Bayern Munich’s UEFA Champions League game with Club Brugge on Wednesday (10.22.25) - bringing his total goals for The Bavarians up to 20 for this season.

Kane reached the record in just 12 matches, besting 40-year-old Ronaldo’s 20 goals in 13 games, and 38-year-old Messi’s same milestone in 17.

Kane had scored against Brugge in just 14 minutes - nine minutes after Lennart Karl, 17, opened for Bayern.

Ultimately, The Bavarians secured a 4-0 victory over the Blue and Blacks, with Luis Diaz, 28, and Nicholas Jackson, 24, adding more points to the score sheet after Kane.

As Kane continues to impress at Bayern, the striker has said he is enjoying his time in the Bundesliga, and is not actively looking to return to the Premier League.

Speaking about coming back to English football, he said: “In terms of the Premier League, I don't know.

“If you had asked me when I first left to go to Bayern, I would have said for sure I would come back.

“Now I have been there a couple of years I would probably say that has gone down a little bit, but I wouldn't say I would never go back.

“What I have learnt in my career is that different opportunities and different timings happen and things fall in place. Going back to my first point with Bayern, right now I am fully all in with Bayern.”

Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank, 52, has said he would want Kane to return to the London club following his exit for Bayern in 2023, but the striker is open to extending his time in Bavaria.

Kane said: “In terms of staying longer, I could definitely see that.

“I spoke openly a couple of weeks ago that I have not had those conversations with Bayern yet, but if they were to arise I would be willing to talk and have an honest conversation.

“Obviously it depends on how the next year or so goes and what we achieve together. Right now, I would say we are in a fantastic moment and I am not thinking about anything else.”
