Watford target Udinese duo Orestis Karnezis and Molla Wague

Watford are looking to sign Udinese duo Orestis Karnezis and Molla Wague before the close of the transfer window.

The two clubs are both owned by the Pozzo family and have regularly exchanged players over the last few seasons and it now appears that Greek international goalkeeper Karnezis and Mali central defender Wague could be the latest players to swap Italy for Hertfordshire.

Karnezis, who is the Greek number one, has made over 100 appearances for Udinese and he would be expected to challenge Heurelho Gomes for a regular starting berth at Vicarage Road.

Wague only completed a permanent switch to Udinese from Granada during the summer, while he also spent time on loan at Leicester last season, although his only first-team appearance for the Foxes came in a 1-0 defeat to Millwall in the FA Cup.

Watford have already added eight players to their squad during the summer and they have made a decent start to the new campaign, collecting five points from their opening three Premier League matches.
