Joel Ward back to boost Eagles

The injury-hit Eagles have been boosted ahead of Saturday's trip to face Arsenal as Roy Hodgson's side aim to continue their revival.

Joel Ward and Yohan Cabaye are ready to return to action after injury problems, with the French midfielder tipped to go straight back into the line-up.

Ward has missed the last month of action because of a groin problem, but Timothy Fosu-Mensah's good form means it will be a tough call for Hodgson at right-back.

With options limited in midfield, Cabaye is likely to step back in alongside James McArthur and Luka Milivojevic for the clash at the Emirates Stadium.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has been ruled out for months and Mamadou Sakho is still out with a calf problem so are both still unavailable.

Andros Townsend, who left the FA Cup third-round clash at Brighton and Hove Albion in a protective boot 10 days ago, is walking freely again although he is more likely to make his comeback against West Ham on January 30.

Connor Wickham, Scott Dann and Jason Puncheon all remain on the long-term injury list with knee problems.

Provisional squad: Hennessey, Speroni, Fosu-Mensah, Ward, Kelly, Tomkins, Delaney, Riedewald, Souare, Van Aanholt, Cabaye, Mutch, Kaikai, Ladapo, Milivojevic, McArthur, Sako, Lee, Zaha, Benteke.
