City raise Gabriel Jesus concerns

There is confusion over whether Gabriel Jesus has suffered an injury setback after being pictured still wearing his leg brace.

Pep Guardiola has raised eyebrows by suggesting the player may yet be absent for another month, having sustained medial knee ligament damage playing at Crystal Palace on New Year's Day.

Jesus posted online footage a fortnight ago of him working-out vigorously on the rowing machine and Manchester City originally expected the 20-year-old to make a first-team return early this month.

The South American, however, has shared a Twitter photo which clearly shows his left leg braced over his jeans, whilst sat on a sofa posing next to a friend.

Jesus remains under the supervision of Barcelona-based surgeon Dr Ramon Cugat, who was quick to dismiss any fears the Samba starlet had he could miss this summer's World Cup finals in Russia.

But Guardiola's comments and the image of Jesus still wearing a precautionary strapping certainly has City supporters now concerned what the state of play is.

Etihad insiders are insistent there is no definitive date penciled in for the forward's return and that he is still working on daily basis in the gym with the Citizens' conditioning coaches.
