Francis Coquelin suffers fracture

Valencia midfielder Francis Coquelin may be set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering a suspected 'fracture' in training.

Details are sketchy and the club have yet to confirm where on his body the break may have occurred but, according to Cope Valencia, the former Arsenal man has been sent to hospital for X-rays.

The incident happened on Friday morning and is a setback for a player who has impressed at the Mestalla since making the switch from the Emirates Stadium for 14million euros in January.

Los Che are set to play Alaves in La Liga on Saturday and it seems highly unlikely that the former France Under-21 schemer will be involved.

Valencia need as many fit bodies as possible as they continue to battle with Real Madrid for the final automatic Champions League place, with Real just one point better off in third at present.
