City hope to finally conclude Mahrez deal

Leicester are expecting a new bid for Riyad Mahrez from Manchester City, with the champions confident of finally getting their man.

City targeted the Algeria international in January and Mahrez informed the Foxes he wanted out, effectively going on strike for a fortnight after being unimpressed by the club's reluctance to sanction what would have been a huge deal.

Leicester refused to budge on their inflated £95million valuation and the Citizens were eventually put off as they were only willing to pay around £60million for the 27-year-old.

However, Pep Guardiola remains a big fan of the winger and club officials are thought to be preparing a new offer in the hope of finally securing Mahrez's services for next season.

Leicester know they will struggle to keep one of their star men happy again if they deny him a move for a third time - they also blocked a potential move to Arsenal last summer - and an offer in the region of £65million may now be enough to get the deal done.
