£35m Max on United radar

Augsburg's Philipp Max continues to be linked with Manchester United who have reportedly been told they must pay £35m for the player.

The 24-year-old, who began his professional career with Schalke before moving to the WWK Arena in 2015, has impressed in the left-back position for the Fuggerstadter.

The Germany Olympic star looks set to be targeted by a few top clubs during the off-season, with United boss Jose Mourinho said to be a big admirer of the talented defender.

Left-back has been a problem position for the Red Devils, with Luke Shaw seemingly out of favour at Old Trafford and Ashley Young standing in for large parts of last season.

It seems inevitable that a new left-sided defended will be recruited, with German outlet Bild suggesting Max is the man they will try to get before the start of the new campaign.
