Benteke to hold Palace talks amid exit rumours

Christian Benteke is expected to hold talks with the Crystal Palace board following rumours he could leave the club.

The Belgian joined the Eagles for £30 million from Liverpool in the summer of 2016 but has struggled to establish himself and managed just three goals in the recent campaign.

As a result, he was not selected for his country's World Cup squad and could now be looking for a fresh start abroad.

Turkish giants Besiktas have been linked with his signature and are likely to have the financial clout to match his estimated £100,000-a-week wages.

With Alexander Sørloth and Connor Wickham expected to be favoured in attack by Roy Hodgson, having often overlooked Benteke in the final weeks of the 2017-18 campaign.
