Speculation has refused to go away linking Neymar with a return to Spain, where he starred with Barcelona, and Real are known to be keen on doing a deal.
Their interest comes as nothing new, but a double swoop to land Mbappe as well would be audacious to say the least, even by Real Madrid standards.
However, Real president Florentino Perez has confirmed he would like to sign them both after bringing Zinedine Zidane back to the Bernabeu this week.
The French tactician will be backed with significant funds to bolster the Madrid squad in the summer, with a view to challenging next term.
And, while big-spending PSG will not want to lose their two best players to a top European rival, it has not stopped Perez from expressing a desire to sign both.
When asked if he would like to sign one of the pair, Perez said: "I'd take them both. Perhaps we could do something with Mbappe because Zidane is French, but right now the focus is on a strong finish to the season!"
